UsedSAMSON Type 3241 globe control valve, Series 240, with a Type 3277 pneumatic actuator and a Type 3730-1 electropneumatic positioner. Two new, never-installed units in Barmaan's warehouse: one DN 32 with Kvs 16 and one DN 50 with Kvs 40, both PN 25 and made in Germany. Every photograph on this page is of these two devices.
The SAMSON Series 240 Type 3241 globe control valve is one of the most widely used control valves in the process industries. What Barmaan holds are two complete assemblies — valve, Type 3277 pneumatic actuator and Type 3730-1 electropneumatic positioner — in two different sizes, and size is the only thing that separates them. Every figure below was read off that device's own nameplate, and every photograph on this page is of these two units on the warehouse shelf.
The DN 32 unit: nominal size DN 32, PN 25, flow coefficient Kvs 16, and the equal-percentage characteristic its nameplate marks with «%». Its Type 3277 actuator has a 240 cm² effective area, a 0,4…2 bar bench range and 15 mm rated travel. CE and EAC are on the plate together with the PED marking 0062 PED/G1/L1/III, and the valve was built 02/2021.
The DN 50 unit: nominal size DN 50, PN 25, flow coefficient Kvs 40, and the same equal-percentage characteristic. Its Type 3277 actuator is one size up — 350 cm² effective area and a 1,4…2,3 bar bench range — with the same 15 mm travel. Besides CE and EAC its plate also carries UKCA, its PED marking is PED/G2/L1/I, and the valve was built 02/2024.
Common to both: an EN-GJS-400-18-LT ductile-iron body (SAMSON code EN-JS1049) with flanged DIN/EN 1092 connections, 6 bar (90 psi) maximum actuator supply pressure and an NBR diaphragm. The SAMSON Type 3730-1 positioner takes a 4…20 mA DC input at up to 7 bar (105 psi) supply air and provides self-calibration against the valve and actuator plus diagnostics, and the actuator's fail-safe action (fail-open or fail-closed) can be reversed without special tools. The figures agree with SAMSON's own data sheets — T 8015 for the valve, T 8311 for the actuator and T 8384-1 for the positioner — all three downloadable from the documents section of this page.
Both units are new and have never been installed, and the evidence is in the photographs on this page: the yellow factory protective caps are still on the flanges, the SAMSON instruction tag is still zip-tied to the yoke, and the protective film is still over the positioner window.
The family is used for continuous control of flow, pressure, temperature and level in the chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, power-generation and utility industries. Barmaan supplies instrumentation and industrial-control equipment; these units come with an authenticity guarantee, the option to inspect them in person at the warehouse, sizing advice, and installation and commissioning support. Pneumatically. Both units carry a SAMSON Type 3277 single-acting diaphragm actuator, per the actuator's own label: 240 cm² effective area and a 0,4…2 bar bench range on the DN 32 unit, 350 cm² and 1,4…2,3 bar on the DN 50. Maximum supply pressure is 6 bar (90 psi) and rated travel 15 mm on both.
Two units: one DN 32 with a flow coefficient of Kvs 16 and one DN 50 with Kvs 40. Both are PN 25, share the same body material and the same equal-percentage characteristic; they differ in flow capacity, flange size and — following from that — actuator size. Use the «Nominal size» selector on this page to view either unit on its own.
Both units are new and have never been installed, and the evidence is visible in the photographs on this page: the yellow factory caps on the flanges, the SAMSON instruction tag still zip-tied to the yoke, and the protective film over the positioner window. The nameplates date the DN 32 unit to 02/2021 and the DN 50 unit to 02/2024.

DN 32 unit: PN 25, Kvs 16, 240 cm² actuator. DN 50 unit: PN 25, Kvs 40, 350 cm² actuator. The full spec table and SAMSON's own data sheets are on this page.
Yes, on both units, and the plate names it: SAMSON Type 3730-1 — an electropneumatic positioner with a 4…20 mA DC input, up to 7 bar (105 psi) supply air, self-calibrating against the valve and actuator. Both were ordered with the software limit-switch option. The positioner's data sheet (T 8384-1) is downloadable from the documents section of this page.
Both carry CE and EAC and are marked to the Pressure Equipment Directive: the DN 32 unit as 0062 PED/G1/L1/III and the DN 50 unit as PED/G2/L1/I. The DN 50 plate additionally carries UKCA. Every one of these values was read off that unit's own nameplate, and photographs of both plates are in this page's gallery.
You can request a proforma invoice for either unit from this page; Barmaan's engineers respond with price and delivery terms within one working day. Both devices are physically in the warehouse, so once an order is confirmed there is no procurement lead time. You are also welcome to inspect either unit in person at the warehouse.
