Fire & gas (F&G) systems are the last line of defence for people and plant, so they must respond correctly when it matters. We calibrate fixed and portable gas detectors with certified span gas, function-test flame, smoke and heat detectors, and verify the F&G panel's alarms, voting and shutdown outputs end to end — with certificates you can present to authorities and insurers.
Fixed and portable detectors for flammable gases (LEL), toxic gases (H2S, CO, etc.) and oxygen are calibrated using certified traceable calibration gas. A bump test confirms the sensor and alarm respond; a full span calibration adjusts the reading to a known concentration.
We record response time, alarm set points and as-found/as-left readings for each point.
Flame detectors (UV/IR) are function-tested with approved test lamps, smoke detectors with aerosol/test gas, and heat detectors against their rated response — confirming each device alarms within specification.
We check field-of-view, mounting and any lens contamination that could blind a flame detector in service.
We verify the F&G control panel end to end: alarm and pre-alarm annunciation, voting logic (e.g. 2oo3), fault handling, and executive actions such as ESD, deluge or ventilation trips.
Input signals are simulated or driven from the field so the complete cause-and-effect matrix is proven, not assumed.
You receive per-device calibration and function-test certificates, alarm set-point records, the tested cause-and-effect results and a punch list of any faults found — the documented evidence safety cases and audits require.

A bump test briefly applies gas to confirm the sensor responds and the alarm triggers, but it does not adjust the reading. A span calibration applies a known concentration and adjusts the detector so its reading is accurate; it is the full calibration and yields a certificate.
