UsedEndress+Hauser Micropilot M FMR240 — non-contact K-band radar level transmitter (≈26 GHz) with horn antenna, 4–20 mA HART two-wire, 40 m measuring range in the basic build. Second-hand equipment held in Barmaan's own warehouse: every unit is photographed nameplate-first and each unit card states the model that unit's own plate says it is.
The Endress+Hauser Micropilot M FMR240 is a K-band free-space radar for continuous, non-contact level measurement of liquids, pastes and slurries. A microwave pulse leaves the horn antenna, reflects off the product surface and the distance follows from its time of flight; because nothing touches the medium, the reading is largely independent of density, temperature, pressure and any gas blanket or vapour above the surface. Endress+Hauser's Multi-Echo Tracking follows the true level echo through interference echoes, and up to eight Micropilot M transmitters can share one tank because their pulses are statistically coded.
The figures below are the MODEL LINE's, taken from Endress+Hauser Technical Information TI00345F/00/EN/15.12 — they describe what an FMR240 can be ordered as, not what any particular second-hand unit in this warehouse is. Maximum configurable range in liquids is 40 m (131 ft) in the basic build and 70 m (230 ft) only with the Advanced Dynamics option; in solids, with the 100 mm horn and that option, 30 m. Under the datasheet's reference conditions the 40 m build measures to ±3 mm up to 10 m and to ±0.03 % of the measuring range beyond 10 m. Horn antennas are offered at 40, 50, 80 and 100 mm, with 3 dB beam angles of 23°, 18°, 10° and 8° respectively. Process pressure is −1 to +40 bar and process temperature −40 to +150 °C, seal-dependent; the wetted parts are PTFE, the seal (Viton, Viton GLT or Kalrez) and 316L or Alloy C22. The housing is IP65 / NEMA 4X and the antenna IP68 / NEMA 6P. The electronics are two-wire 4–20 mA HART (PROFIBUS PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus were also offered), drawing 16–30 V DC at the terminals in the Ex ia version and 60–900 mW.
Endress+Hauser's own wording on functional safety, which this page repeats rather than paraphrases: the Micropilot M is «used for level monitoring (MIN, MAX) up to SIL 2 as per IEC 61508 / IEC 61511», independently assessed by exida.com, and the SIL 2 statement is scoped in the datasheet to the 4–20 mA output signal — it does not extend to the fieldbus builds.
WHAT IS ACTUALLY ON THIS SHELF. Ten serialised units are recorded against this product, and reading their nameplates one by one — and checking every serial against Endress+Hauser's own Device Viewer — showed that only ONE of them is a Micropilot M FMR240: a German-built unit from December 2009, order code FMR240-15E1AWJAA4A, which decodes to a 100 mm horn, a Viton GLT seal, a 6" 150 lb ASME B16.5 flange in 316/316L, an F12 aluminium housing and the ATEX Ex ia approval printed on its plate as PTB 00 ATEX 2118. The other nine are different instruments that were filed here in error: three Micropilot M FMR245 (the PTFE-clad 200 °C model), three Micropilot FMR51 and one Micropilot FMR57 from the newer generation, one Promass E 200 Coriolis mass flowmeter, and one Rosemount radar that is not an Endress+Hauser device at all. Each unit card on this page states the model its own plate says it is, and those nine are being moved to their own product pages. Nothing on this page should be read as a claim that ten FMR240s are in stock.
Condition and provenance. This is used process instrumentation, not new stock. Build years run from 2009 to 2024 and are stated per unit from the manufacturer's Device Viewer. No unit has been bench-inspected, so nothing here is offered with a guarantee of authenticity or of function; what is offered is what can be shown — each device is physically in Barmaan's warehouse, has been photographed individually with its nameplate, and has had its serial confirmed against Endress+Hauser's own database. Endress+Hauser stopped taking orders for the FMR240 in January 2016 and names the Micropilot FMR51 as its replacement; spare-parts and repair availability for the Micropilot M ended in August 2019.

Used. These are second-hand process instruments, not new stock. Their build years, read from Endress+Hauser's own Device Viewer against each serial, run from December 2009 to February 2024, and the FMR240 itself has been out of production since Endress+Hauser's order stop in January 2016. No unit has been bench-inspected, so no guarantee of authenticity or of function is offered. What can be shown is shown: each device is physically in Barmaan's warehouse and has been photographed individually, nameplate included.

Per Technical Information TI00345F/00/EN/15.12, the maximum configurable range in liquids is 40 m in the basic build and 70 m only when the Advanced Dynamics option is ordered; in solids, with the 100 mm horn and that option, 30 m. Accuracy is stated for reference conditions: on the 40 m build, ±3 mm up to 10 m and ±0.03 % of the measuring range beyond 10 m. The usable range in practice depends on the antenna size, the medium's dielectric constant, the mounting position and interference reflections — Barmaan's engineers do that calculation free of charge. The one FMR240 in this warehouse was ordered with the basic option, so its own ceiling is 40 m.
The FMR240 was offered with ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, TIIS and NEPSI approvals, chosen by the order code — so the answer depends on the individual device, not on the model. The one FMR240 in this warehouse carries ATEX II 1/2 G Ex ia IIC T6 on its own nameplate under certificate PTB 00 ATEX 2118, which suits Zone 0/1, and its plate gives a supply of 16 to 30 V DC two-wire; it must be fed through an intrinsically safe barrier or isolator. For any other unit on this page, read the approval off the nameplate photograph of that unit — this page makes no Ex claim it cannot show you.
Endress+Hauser names the Micropilot FMR51 as the successor to the FMR240. Order stop was January 2016 and spare-parts and repair availability for the Micropilot M family ended in August 2019, which is exactly why a working second-hand unit is worth something to a site that already runs this model: it is a one-for-one physical and electrical replacement, whereas an FMR51 has a different parameter tree, a different DTM and different housing dimensions. Note that the FMR5x generation is also represented on this shelf — three FMR51 and one FMR57 sit here by mistake and are listed on their own pages.
